Designed as a sleek AIO device, the Digiflavor UPEN has been designed to resemble a high end pen itself, and even features a pen styled cap which not only protects against dust and lint, but can also be clipped onto a suit pocket for example.
The Digiflavor UPEN is manufactured from stainless steel and zinc alloy, with a choice of black, red, silver and white finishes. A PCTG tank section is present, allowing you to see just how much E-Liquid is left in the 1.5ml capacity tank, and a spare tank section is also included with the spares.
A good sized power button is found at the side, which also features an LED light indicating how much battery life is remaining. A USB charging port is found at the base of the battery.
Using the Digiflavor UPEN and Performance
A top filling system is used on the Digiflavor UPEN, you simply unscrew the top cap and fill the 1.5ml capacity tank section to just under the top of the chimney. After filling with a fresh Nano coil head, leave the E-Liquid to sit in the tank for 5-10 minutes to allow the cotton in the coil to absorb juice correctly.
Three clicks of the power button will turn the Digiflavor UPEN on and off, and you simply press the power button to vape. If the power button is held down for longer than 15 seconds, the UPEN will automatically shut off. Low resistance, no atomiser, low battery voltage and overcharging protections are also built into the UPEN for safety.
A 650mAh battery is built into the UPEN, which does generally last me most of the day, and the LED indicator on the power button displays how much battery life remains. Green means 4.2V-3.85V, orange means 3.84V-3.55V, and red means 3.54V-3.3V remaining. At 3.3V the UPEN will cease to fire, and it will need to be plugged into a USB charging source to charge. Passthrough vaping is supported meaning that you can vape whilst charging.
1.2ohm Nano coil heads are used with the Digiflavor UPEN, and I’ve primarily been using it with 40-55mg nicotine salt based E-Liquids with 60/40 and 70/30 VG/PG mix ratios. Wicking has been great with these liquid ratios, with no spitback, leaking or dry hits experienced.
Two 1mm fixed airflow holes are found on the UPEN, which offer a tight mouth to lung draw. I do quite enjoy the draw from the UPEN, and the flavour is very good for an AIO styled device! The output power decreases in line with the remaining battery voltage, but it never seems to feel too strong or too weak.
I’ve very much enjoyed using the Digiflavor UPEN, and I’ve found it performs very well with high nicotine E-Liquids, making it great for beginner vapers or as a nicotine salt device. It’s small, discrete, easy to use and I couldn’t fault the performance!
Many thanks to Healthcabin for sending the UPEN in for review, the Digiflavor UPEN can be purchased from their website here!
